Generally, softboards are ideal for beginners, yes.

But it's not just students who enjoy these. Skilled riders appreciate a carefree ride and being able to throw their board in the back of their truck and go to work. Surfschools meanwhile, will often order NSP softboards for their lessons and rental shacks on the beach.
